I like Andiamo when looking for a good, Italian meal with the family. I've also been to a few banquets at this place, which turned out well. But mostly, I like this place for family dinners. It's a little too upscale, mature, and pricey for my friends and I. As for the food, they have an extensive menu. The variety is probably what I like most about this place. Often Italian restaurants either focus on pastas or meats/proteins. Those that offer good selections of both usually have very limited options. This place is not like that. They really offer all sorts of Italian fare in many, many dishes. Like I said, this isn't the type of place I would go to with my friends, nor do I think of it as romantic, but it is a great restaurant.

What a different and disappointing experience the Bloomfield Andiamo was for us. We are regular patrons at both the Royal Oak and St Clair Shores locations and are consistently pleased with service as well as food. This location has so far graced us with wilted salad, lukewarm wine and what appears to be a day old bread basket. Entree selections are yet to arrive but rest assured ... we've already seen enough to never come back.

We had a terrible experience with horrible service. They did not bring bread out until we asked, no pepper for our salad. The eggplant and crab in palomina sauce was tasteless. The worst part was getting the $33 dollar fillet mignon well done when we had asked for it medium rare. They took it back and brought another after 20 minutes when we were boxing up our left overs. When I complained to the waiter and the manager, they argued about how long it took to cook it, with no offer to make it up in some way to us. We have gone to the other Andiamo's restaurants which have always provided fabulous food and service. A huge, expensive disappointment.

Had my daughter's birthday party there. Spent 1200.00. Manager and hostesses could not have been less helpful.

The food is good and it is a good value. Service is excellent. Had a bad experience with the valet though. While we had dinner, someone smoked in our vehicle and adjusted the heating controls on a cold night. Called the manager about it and I felt his response was inadequate.

We got in late traveling and needed to get something to eat. Well, my Sweetie suggested Andiamo. Cool, I love Italian. Nothing but great! The menu selection was wide. I chose the Salmon and linguine with tomato sauce. Sweet ordered Chicken Picata. Before our meal we were offered mozzarella stuffed fried risotto balls - yummy! I also had minestrone soup (it was just OK, nothing special) and he had a house salad. Overall our dining experience was really nice, very attentive staff, knowledgeable waitstaff, valet service and great food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
